Jicarilla Hunt - Monday, April 09, 2018

Fish Fans,

All I can say is every report I have received makes me wish I were fishing. 20 fish an hour 17-23" at Mundo on flies from shore. Of course the fly angler did not mention a pattern, but I'm willing to guess if it that good it can't be to complicated. Most reports have been from lure and fly anglers from the evening hours. All of which is pretty amazing as I have not even stocked yet. So before the summer doldrums hit the fishing should remain amazing for quite some time! Have not heard any recent reports from Stone nor Embom but there are fish in both those lakes as well. All of these fish are holdovers from previous years which means they might not be as willing to eat bait since they have seen those tricks before...

This week is shaping up to be the first week of summer as far as sunlight/temperatures etc. so please plan accordingly.

The Fish Crew is on the river all week conducting its annual spring sample. Please if you have questions leave me a voicemail at the office and I will call you back either in the morning or evening when I return to the office (575) 759-3255. Of course you can always use the e-mail jicarillafishqs@gmail.com.

May 5th DERBY DAY!

Hope all is well.

LOST & FOUND

Jicarilla Hunt - Thursday, April 05, 2018

I got a call yesterday that a regular angler left his favorite fly rod at Mundo Lake earlier this week. If you have any information or would like to return the rod to its proper owner please contact me at the office (575) 759-3255 or jicarillafishqs@gmail.com.
