Jicarilla Hunt - Thursday, August 02, 2018

Folks,

I guess I'll just keep saying it, but it sure has been HOT! The Fish Crew finished up its summer sampling efforts on the Navajo River this week and managed to catch quite a few fish. Anglers have reported nice catches of bluegill up to ten inches, one bass was reported which from the picture appeared to be about 2 pounds, and one 31" catfish was reported.

The unseasonably warm (which sounds weird since it is still summer) temperatures and limited monsoon activity has caused the Nation remain under fire restrictions and Extreme to HIGH fire danger.

Below you can see The better three quarters of the Fish Crew with a 21 & 3/4" Brown Trout captured during our sampling efforts.

I keep telling myself it is almost fall, I hope that is true!

Have a good weekend

J.
