THE JICARILLA APACHE NATION RECEIVES PRESTIGIOUS INTERNATIONAL “AWARD OF EXCELLENCE”
Sporting Classics Magazine has presented the Jicarilla Apache Nation with their 2017 Sporting Classics “SPORTING HERITAGE AWARD.”
“The long and storied history of northern New Mexico’s Jicarilla Apache Nation has been one of leadership and dedication in the management of its fish and wildlife resources to propagate and sustain those populations for future generations,” said Sporting Classics in their March-April 2017 issue, in which the Award was announced. Then they continued, “Established in 1887 and with modern-day emphasis on trophy mule deer and elk management, the Jicarilla Apache Reservation has produced more record-book bucks than any other location in the West and is the world’s number one destination for Boone & Crockett mule deer.”This coveted international award recognizes the Jicarilla Apache Nation’s longstanding leadership and commitment to excellence in both the vision and the implementation of one of the most successful wildlife management programs in history, along with the dedication of the people who implemented it and continue to oversee its success.
The Award itself is on display in the Jicarilla Apache Nation’s Game and Fish Department (38 Airport Road).
